Description
- Dan shen (known as red sage or Salvia militorrhiza) is considered a cardioprotective herb, with natural blood-thinning properties.
- It has some activity on dopamine, has some antimicrobial properties, is used in cancer, Lyme, bartonella and liver protocols.
- Traditionally this herb has been used to treat cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disorders including recovery from acute ischaemic stroke, hypertension, inhibiting platelet adhesion and recovering from myocardial infarction.
- This herb should not be used alongside digoxin, other heart medications, blood thinners, while concomitantly taking NSAIDs, or during pregnancy.
